Objective of the MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0
In alignment with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat @2047” and the belief that “India’s youth and innovators arethe architects of a self-reliant and globally competitive nation,” theMinistry of MSME has launched Idea Hackathon 5.0. This editionmarks a significant milestone in the journey of fostering inclusiveinnovation, as it opens its doors to a broad spectrum of participants,welcoming all Indian citizens aged 18 to 60 years.
The Hackathon 5.0 is a celebration of India’s diverse talent pool, which is designed to harness the collective ingenuity of our people to address pressing national challenges and unlock new opportunities for the future.

With the above perspective, Ministry of MSME has launched “MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0” on 27.06.2025 by Hon’ble Minister of MSME. Ideas are being invited under MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0 from aged 18 to 60 years.from all over India under MSME Innovative Scheme. MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0 is live at https://my.msme.gov.in/inc/ & the portal will be open till 14.07.2025 ( 23.59 Hrs).
Eligibility to Apply for the MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0
A. Innovators of Indian Origin
Any individual of Indian origin with a valid email and mobile number is eligible to participate in the hackathon. This open eligibility criterion allows innovators from across the country to present their ideas and contribute to the growth of MSMEs in India.
B. Categories for Registration
Participants can apply under the following three categories:
- MSME Category: Registered MSMEs can participate by submitting their Udyam Registration Number. The Udyam Registration is essential for MSMEs to access benefits and financial support during the hackathon. You can register for Udyam if you haven’t done so already to ensure your eligibility.
- Student Category: Students who wish to participate must submit a valid Student Identity Card for the academic year 2025-2026. This category encourages the participation of young, dynamic minds with fresh and creative ideas that can reshape the MSME landscape.
- Others Category: This category is open to individual innovators who may not be part of an MSME or a student institution but have innovative ideas that could bring value to the MSME sector. Whether you are a freelancer, researcher, or an independent innovator, you can apply under this category.
Benefits Offered
Financial assistance up-to maximum of Rs. 15 lakh per approved idea, through the Host Institutes chosen by them for developing and nurturing of the idea into working prototype.
This financial support covers:
- Prototyping and product development
- Research and development (R&D) expenses
- Materials and technology required for execution
Host Institutions, like Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh are responsible for nurturing these ideas and helping participants navigate the development process by providing the resources and technical assistance needed.
Criteria for Ideas
The mandate for Ideas All ideas should contain, inter-alia, following basic types of Innovation Processes:
- Marketing & Branding: Innovation related to the customer experience.
- Ideation: Innovation related to the product idea & concept.
- Technology: Innovation related to product functionality.
- Co-creation: Innovation related to customer involvement.
- Social Innovation: Innovation related to the corporate culture.
- Entrepreneurship: Innovation related to entrepreneurial thinking.
- Open Innovation: Innovation related to stakeholders.
- Business Model Innovation: Innovation related to the purpose and strategy.

Ideas received as fully completed applications from 27th June 2025 to 14th July 2025 will be considered for Incubation support under the MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0 scheme on the Portal meant for the purpose through the link: https://my.msme.gov.in/inc/

Click the Join MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0
Click the Join MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0
After clicking on the Registration button, the Registration window will be displayed, enter all the details.
If the MSME category is selected, Enter Udyam Registration and Mobile Number and click on Validate Udyam Registration button, all details get filled automatically after successful validation.
The applicant has the option to choose the Host Institutes (HI) in their State. In case there is no HI, the applicant may choose an HI of their choice from any other state after clicking on Validate & Generate OTP button, OTP will be sent to the registered email Id & Mobile No. Enter all details and click on Validate & Submit button.
After clicking on Validate & Submit button, the registration successful confirmation message window will be displayed, click on the OK button
Go to the home page. Click Join MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0 Button
Click Sign in
Provide the Registered Email Id, Password, and verification code, Click on Login me button. With successful login, the Dashboard window will be opened as below
Fill the Address and upload the age proof (Upload only pdf,File size should not exceed 1 MB)
Then press Update Button
The next window will be opened as below
Users can see all submitted Ideas.
Click on Apply button, Idea proposal window will be displayed.
After clicking on Submit button the confirmation message will be displayed and if the user clicks the OK button then the idea proposal will be submitted also an email is sent on the registered email ID
