Lakshya 8.0 presents “A Musical Night”
Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University (SRU), Raipur, is all set to host one of the most exciting musical evenings of the year as Lakshya 8.0 presents “A Musical Night” on 15 May 2026 at 6:30 PM. The event will feature live performances by Chhattisgarhi folk singer Aaru Sahu, will be taking over the SRU stage with her electrifying voice and folk music.
About SRU, Raipur
Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University is recognized under section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956 and granted the coveted status under Sec12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956. SRU is the 13th Private University in the country to be recognized under Sec 12 B. The SRU is located in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. LAKSHYA 8.0 is a musical night that aims to unite students through celebrations of talent, culture, art, creativity and above all togetherness. As shown in the poster, the program features lively stage lights, a montage of happy people (students) and a picture of the singer for the night, Aaru Sahug engulfed with light. “Feel the Music… Live the Moment” is the theme line for the event which encompasses all that LAKSHYA is.
SRU provides students with various platforms to thrive outside of academics. Through events like LAKSHYA, students can unwind, mingle with their peers and create wonderful memories whilst also building confidence and channeling their creative side.
About Singer – Aaru Sahu
One of LAKSHYA 8.0’s most awaited attractions is Chhattisgarhi folk singer Aaru Sahu who will be taking over the SRU stage with her electrifying voice and folk music. Aaru Sahu has gained popularity in recent years for her melodious voice, funky stage performances, and connection with culture which has made her a hit amongst the youths of Chhattisgarh.
With her stunning voice and energetic performances, singer Aaru Sahu has played a major role in taking folk music to the youth. She has been credited for spreading recognition to Chhattisgarhi folk songs and has performed for various audiences all over the state.
Brief Background:
Originally from Nagari, Dhamtari, Sahu found a passion for music at a young age. Starting her career as a singer while studying, she eventually found success by mixing folk music with a more modern touch. This helped her reach wider audiences with her folk music.

- Songs: Some of her popular folk songs include “Tor Maya Ma Pagal”, “CG Ke Raja”, and “Daiyya Daiyya”.
